Blue Cross PPO tends to be chosen by those who feel the higher co-pays are worth the benefit of additional choice of providers.
For TX/RX employees, UPTE is still negotiating with UC regarding the increased costs for Health Net and the pension plan. Unfortunately, we do not know when this bargaining will conclude. Until an agreement is finalized by a member vote, all TX/RX employees will continue to pay the 2010 rates. UPTE-CWA made a comprehensive proposal to settle these issues in mid-September, but UC has yet to respond.
